plywood door "prop"

I have to build some plywood doors to be used as "props" for a play- the doors are mounted to a 2x4 frame and is just hinged plywood- (lighter and easier to store)- the issue is trying to find a knob that will open and close it- I was thinking something like for a screen door- any suggestions??

You can sandwich or build up layers of material around the door knob on the back side to get enough thickness for a regular door knob. Otherwise a screen door knob could be made to work though it might not have the look you want. Another option is to just screw a regular door knob to the front as a handle and hold the door shut with magnets.

How do you want it to look? You could use a real outside door keyed entry knob by building up the portion of the door by the handle.

I don't care how it looks as an artist will be touching up- I need it to function as much like a door as possible- due to it being so thin presents challenges

Use magnetic catches on the inside and dummy door knobs on both sides.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
