Full frame window replacement in vinyl siding

Hi all:
Am wondering about doing a full frame window replacement on my 20 year old house. The window is completely rotted, but is a standard wood frame double hung with brick moulding, positioned on the gable end of the house, in a field of vinyl siding. J-channel on all sides of the brick mould.

My question is: can this be replaced with a new window of the same style [except made from PVC instead of wood] without having to disturb the siding or J-channel? I can have one made to precise dimensions here in Nashville by a local window shop.

Thanks for your help!
