gable stone window sill cracked

It's either a very rough cement or roughly-cut (lime)stone window sill that is under the gable window in the attic. It's cracked lengthwise, so the outer portion might eventually threaten to fall off onto my porch roof. (It still feels solid, the crack is <1/4" wide but surely will get worse with any more freezing winters).

How to fix? What can I do if I cant fix it til spring?
