How hard is it to repair sash windows?
Anyone got any experience with sash windows? Mine are in a bit of a bad state. I'm not too sure how to take them apart. I've found this guide to taking sash windows apart ****** but without any pictures im not too sure i feel safe following that advice.
I think i need to clean out the bits where the weights/strings go. Anyone done this before?

Pictures of windows and jams might help. The one's I have done many years ago had screws in james and the pieces came out. Than you could reach in and get the weights and ropes out.

Whole lot of work and little to gain.
Install replacement windows and fill and seal the old window weight voids and start saving money from day one and less future maintaince.

Still not expained exacty what your talking about.
What do you mean by "bits"?
What's "cleaning out the bit's mean?
Still have no pictures.
Want a draft free window then remove the casing on the sides remove old weights and rollers, air seal and insulate, install new replacement window.
Save money from day one.
