Standard clearance for interior doors: door to floor?
I just wanted to learn what are the standard or typical clearance from the floor to the bottom edge surface of interior doors like bedrooms ? I understand that it will depend on door jam but would the clearance be at least 1/4" from the floor to the bottom surface edge of a hung interior door ?

When you buy a prehung door here in the US, the jamb legs are 81 1/2" long. 3/4" of that is the top jamb. The door itself is 80". That leaves about 5/8" - 3/4" from the bottom of the door to the bottom of the jamb.
The final distance between the door and the finished floor depends on multiple factors. Whether or not the installer set the jambs right on the subfloor (or shimmed them up), and what type of floor covering is used. If, during a remodel, carpet is being installed over the top of a preexisting wood floor, doors need to be cut shorter. In that case, you can control how much you cut off... and yes, in that case, 1/4" would be the minimum amount you want the door to be above the carpet. In other cases, you may want a larger gap (such as a room with no cold air returns). I recently remodeled a bathroom where the door needed to be cut higher to clear a plush bath rug that the homeowner wanted right in front of the door.
So there really is no "standard". Typically though, you don't want them cut any higher than they have to be. Sometimes you find that because of a door that is not plumb, or a floor that is not level, 1/4" may not be enough to keep the door from dragging at some point as it swings open.

@XSleeper Thanks very much. Yes I forgot about the floor materials used. But from what your saying the clearance should be in the neighborhood of 5/8" - 3/4". I'm not looking to hang any door I was just wondering. Thanks
