Why is it so difficult to find a new slab fiberglass entry door?

I am renovating my home. I would like to avoid replacing the entire 6' wide (2 sidelights) unit, so I am looking at slab doors. I like fiberglass doors, but I cannot find any locally. Only prehung units are available.

Does anyone have suggestions?

What size door are you looking for? Have you tried lumber yards, or door manufacturing companies?

Two words... "special order".

I am looking for a nominal size of 36" x 80". I have not tried the lumber yards. I can give them a call.

Locally exterior wood slabs are easy to find but a steel or fiberglass slab would have to be special ordered.

I sort of expected that, but when I check at Lowes and HD even for special orders there were no fiberglass doors listed. Strange

Did you talk to the sales guy in the mill dept or just look online?
