Anderson French inswing door warped - Can I just replace the door?
Girl at Home Depot said "Oh, no" you've got to install a whole new system (2 outer lite panels?), they won't just install a new door".
She said "I would just go with a cheaper door though instead of Anderson for around $1500 installed". I guess it's another french door system.

Yes you can replace just the door. That's one of the main reasons to stick with a company like Andersen... there are few companies that stand behind their products like they do. Use their website to contact their service department, they will help you with whatever you need.

How old is the door?

I've had 0 luck with Anderson on warranty work!
Been there many times on windows, doors of all types, could not even get a rep to show up on one year old units they had installed.
Just a guess, is it an Oval shaped window in the door?
I had one brand new that was warped, I checked it with my 6' level and the door was bowed.
Took me 2 weeks to get someone to even look at it, Anderson never did look at it, had to have my local lumber yard I bought it from come see it. First thing they did was use my level and to check it.
Yep it's bowed, 2 months later they shipped a new door but would not pay for the labor.
Never again!

No company I know of pays for labor... that's usually plainly written right in the warranty... they also rarely will make a free company service call unless you have a good rapport with a rep.
I was referring to the availability of replacement service parts. Andersen isn't like every other company that says, sorry that window or door is discontinued and we can't get a replacement part for it. As a window dealer/installer, I'm the one that orders the parts, which is what any homeowner would have to do if they want to DIY... which was the original question. "Can I just replace the door?" the answer, yes.

Yes, it should be fairly simple. Getting someone at home depot that knows how to order it without screwing it up will be the hard part. That's why I suggest using their online service forms.

The current door rubs against the bottom sill in the corner where the hinges are and makes a squeaky sound when opening an closing. I'm thinking the bottom sill may also be out of true. Is there a way to check this with a square and maybe a level or something? It's also a little rotten around that area, so the sill may also need replacing.
Would I be able to get an Anderson rep. to come to the house and look at everything and then order a new door, etc?
I've got to look up the number on the door. I'm not home at the moment, but this is a 3 hinge inswing door. I believe, but am not sure, that it was made in the early 2000's or earlier. I guess the number should tell me everything.

Well, what you just said puts it out of the realm of warranty work, which it is clearly beyond, or an easy diy repair. Based on this new information, you probably need a whole new door installed. Any kind of door.
When you said the door is warped, I'm picturing replacing the swinging door slab, because, to use your words, the door is warped, can I just replace the door? What you are describing means replacing the entire frame. Out of level and rotten frames can't be "fixed", they must be replaced.

Thanks XSpleeper. I don' think I need an entire frame. It's only slightly rotted in the corner near the hinge side of the inswing door. It's got 2 side panels that are glass on each side of the door. Heck, I'll just upload a pic when I get home, it'll be easier.

I'm not sure what this means, but I'm assuming the "3-03" could mean March 2003?
I'm pretty sure I can just replace the warped door and it'll lock and everything (the warped door won't lock unless you really press hard with your foot on the bottom of the door).

Have you tried adjusting it? Or is it warped away from the weatherstrip when closed?

Yes, it's warped in from the bottom when it's closed on the right side. If you stand with your head against the door and look down it clearly goes from normal centered position to bows right inwards. Of course the lock in the bottom does not line up and so we can't lock it. It will shut and if you really force the bottom in, you can lock it, but of course the door will be under pressure due to the warping.
