Attaching an exterior door into brick/concrete?

Hi,
Just removed an old exterior door - probably in in place since the 1950s. I was hoping to find a wood stud to nail the new jam, etc. into, but it's a combo of brick & concrete (see picture).

Best way to attach? Tapcon? I think I can get my hands on a .22 nailer as well.

Thanks!

How wide is the opening? do you have room to add a PT 2x on each side?

I wish! Might get a cat's whisker between the frame and the existing block.

Securing the jamb to the interior stud might be all you can do. Shims and door and window foam will do the rest. Use a good polyurethane sealant on the exterior.

Looks like a perfect application for a sliding pocket/cavity door
