Best way to fix this on front door
What is the best way to fix this, is on the interior of my front door?

Cut the boogers around the hole with a sharp razor knife to make it semi regular. Sand it down a little and apply some Durham's Rock Hard setting compound in a thin layer over the area. Once it has dried, sand it down smooth and repaint it.

If you use Durham's Rock Hard Putty be sure to apply it neatly as it's a bear to sand! I normally use a setting compound like Durabond or EasySand. Regular joint compound or spackling will also work although the filler won't dry as hard.

I have some of the dap drydex spackling compound left over from repairing some walls in a bedroom, will that work over the door? assuming I use it the same way as on the wall?
