fixing a non-working window crank

Name: window crank.jpg
Views: 243
Size: 19.0 KB

I am trying to fix a window crank and haven't really seen the one I have in any stores. I know what I need to do I'm just worried about taking it apart and not being able to get a replacement. Any ideas on what type of model this is?

Thanks

Welcome to the forums! It would help us to know where you are located so we can give better advice. Filling out your profile is one way to do that.

What is broken about the crank? Does it move? Does it not crank the window? Is there any gold stickers on any of the window panels? If so, please give us a picture of it, or the numbers and words off it.

If it is broke, taking it apart won't make it "broker", and you may even see what is needed by doing that.

Been putting in windows for 25+ yrs... never seen anything quite like it. You might be able to find something comparable in size, but it will look different. We would need the distance between the mounting screws and the length of the arm... and a pic of the hardware from above with the window cranked open. Other than that, I don't know how else we can help you since you gave us little to no information. A big clue would be a brand name stamped on the crank arm. (Like "Truth".)
