New window putty & paint

How long should I wait to prime (oil) and paint (latex) new putty?

I usually prime the glazing the next day and the top coat the day after. If pushed for time I have reglazed in the morning, primed late afternoon and applied the latex the next day.

Look at the instructions on the glazing compound.

When I glaze a window for a customer I add this tag to the glass

"Attn: Customer
For best results, glazing should be painted after it is applied.

For latex paint let cure several days

For oil paint let cure overnight."
