Stuck window

I'm sure everyone can guess what happened. I have a window AC that decided to quit working during this hot spell. I bought a new one. Went to remove the old one, and the window will not raise. It's an aluminum frame, single hung window. I've tried silicone lube on it, running a putty knife around the edges, and tapping with a hammer. The window has not been raised since I installed the AC several years ago. I guess the house could have settled a bit. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm tired of sweating it out.

Paint is not the problem, as I never got any paint on the window frame.

Yes, it's unlocked. It's got me puzzled.

You may be right about the bracket, as there is a U shaped channel across the top of the AC the window slides into. I just took a flashlight and a magnifying glass and looked at it. It appears as if the the lip on the window frame fits under the lip of the channel. When it stops raining, I'll look at it from the outside and see how things are there.
