Gravel in basement window wells ???
How deep of gravel and what size should I put in my window well? Currently I just see dirt there .
should it end just under the bottom of the window??
3/4 or 1/2?

No, I like the bottom of the window well to be as far below the window as possible. Often a clean crushed stone or pea gravel is used to prevent the dirt from splashing and the stone lets water easily pass through.

So 6 to 10 inches deep of 3/4 or 1/2 crush gravel or pea gravel?? But how much gap do I leave below window. .
Should I also dig a d fill some of the outside window well??

Whichever you can get easily. They both will work the same. Most home centers sell pea gravel by the bag but crushed stone is usually sold by the truckload or ton.

My concern is if the half inch gravel compare to pea gravel drains quicker .
would I want it to drain quick or slow. Or doesnt matter .

Heres some sites . They said dont use pea gravel cauae it doesnt drain well .
Also. 12 inch above drain pipe should be soil ! Which I dunno if my window well has a drain or not.
If no drain use 1.5 inch crush .
I guess I cant post links ?
