Window Won't Open -- Inner Track Guide Broken

Can someone help me identify this part? It is the guide in the right side of the window that doesn't stay in place and prevents window from opening. It came up on my home inspection and I want to repair it.

"Guide" is a pretty generic term, so I have no idea what part you are referring to. Your picture shows a tilt latch, but not much else... and a broken tilt latch would not prevent the window from opening. The tilt latches can be ordered if that's what is broken. There are several kinds so you would need to know the overall size, as well as the size of the mortise it fits into.

There are many types of channel balances... and there are a variety of lengths and weight ratings. You would need to open and tip the window down (or another one that is exactly the same size) in order to figure out what kind you have.

-you need to look for the length and weight rating... stamped into the metal
-verify the overall length and width
-identify the cap on top and bottom, if any.
-identify the type of hook on the end of the cord.

weight rating is on the window, correct?

Overall length, width, and identify the cap on top/botton, and type of hook is on the channel guide right?

Stamped into the metal on your original channel balance.
