By-pass closet doors

I need to install two by-pass closet doors in a closet opening 8' x 10'. There were 2 doors there previously. Does anyone know of a company that I can contact that makes by-pass doors that large?

8'x10' ?? so the opening is 8" high? I'd be inclined to reframe the opening to fit standard size doors.

The main difference between a by pass door and any other is the hardware but I don't recall seeing any doors [other than commercial] that wide. I'd suspect they'd have to be custom made. Check with most any place that sells doors.

Rotten window replacement with rotten framing

My garage has 2 wood frame windows. One was completely rotted out so yesterday I removed it and some drywall so I could see the extent of the damage. And now I have a couple issues that need to be addressed. 1. The sill, a couple studs and the exterior osb are rotted out. How do I go about replacing these without removing all the siding from that wall (x90 I believe) or at least as little as possible. 2. When it was built there was no flashing tape or flashing used except for 1 piece of tin on top of the window, again this has to be addressed while hopefully removing as little as possible. 3. The RO measures 45 3/4 by 29 7/8 which I'm seeing is not a standard sized window. This is just my garage so I'd really like to not have to have custom windows built. I have never done windows so dont assume I know exactly what your talking about. However I havent found a project I couldnt tackle yet, and if this goes well I have a few windows on the house that need to be done as well. I will attach pictures of the damage.Read More

Need help making window inserts

So I want to make some window inserts. Saw some from a company called Indow Windows but way too much money, like they should be 1/4 of the price. Problem I'm having is that I live in an apartment so I need something I can slide in and out of the window in the same kind of fashion the Indow Window inserts do. Basically a piece of plexi with a silicone compression tubing around it. Tried looking up all kind of tubing and gaskets but have yet to come across anything close. Figured maybe someone else is good at thinking outside the box on what I could use to maintain an airtight seal. Also if anyone is knowledgable about all the various option with plexi/acrylic, what would you suggest getting? I want it to be at least 1/4 inch thick (if not possibly go with thicker) and if there is anything that will not yellow over time as I know plexi has a habit of doing that.Read More
