question on measuring for french door

Hello, I am looking to replace my patio door with a French door. I think I need a 60X80, but not sure. When I measured my door, It is 63.75" from side to side of the brick mold. Does that sound right? I don't wanna order the 60x80 and paint it then pull the old door and find out I need somethin bigger.

Yes, that's about right... the rough opening will be about 62 or 62 1/4". If you want to verify, you need to pull off the interior trim on the old door and actually measure the rough opening... and compare that with the recommended rough opening for your new door. While you are at it, measure the wall thickness, because you don't want to put an inswinging 4 9/16" jamb door in the wall if your wall is 6 9/16", for example.

Its a 4" wide wall, wish they would of done 6" walls. Haha. I was hoping I could avoid pulling he trim just to keep from damaging it till I do put the new door in.
