Are locking astragals universal?

The astragal on our french door is broken. Are they mostly universal so I can simply buy a replacement? Our door doesn't have any markings on it so I can't refer to the manufacturer.

No, we cannot categorically say they are universal, especially not without seeing yours. Look for a watermark on the bottom corners of the glass or somewhere on the aluminum spacer between the glass.

XSleeper you are certainly right. Universal is a poor word. What I meant was are there replacements not made by the manufacturer.

The lock in our current astragal an endura. I'm guessing they make locks that many different companies use so I cannot assume the astragal is theirs.

The only watermark is the watermark for the glass and the specifications it meets. On the aluminum in between the panes of glass it has that it is low E2 glass. Not much help.
