Installing pet door in fiberglass exterior door?

Is this possible? My wife wants to put a cat door in a fiberglass door into our basement that I installed last year. Do you have to do anything special for this sort of install?

Nope, nothing special to it. Stay far enough off of the bottom of the door to leave some structure. Then if it's a raised panel door consider the location and how your cat door and it's trim will look/work with a contoured surface. The problem I often see is when people put the door in the center of a smooth raised panel area which makes it too high making it more difficult to train the cat to use.
