Broke the outside glass of the fixed double panel of our bow window.
it is a vinyl window.
any advise how to replace it and if it can be done from inside ?
In all likelihood, you will need to set up a ladder or scaffold outside. There are probably glazing strips that need to be removed (pryed off) on the exterior perimeter of the glass. These get reused. The inside perimeter of the glass is likely glazed with two faced glazing tape. Hard to tell, but most are. You will need to cut that tape to get the glass out. And you need to get the glass out to measure it and order a new one. You need the exact size and thickness of the double pane unit before you can order the new one. You will also need the same size and thickness of glazing tape. So you basically need to take it out, measure it, and put it back in until the new one arrives. As a backup plan, you could put 3/4 plywood in temporarily instead.
If this seems too much for you, just call any city glass company, they can measure, order, and replace it for you.
Thanks ... I was hoping it is like replacing window that you do from inside
hopefully I will not require a plywood since the second pane (inside) is still good
Where the card is the door is hitting the front of the frame so I have pull on the handle to close the door. What sort of adjustment would fix this?
Thanks

Hello,
I am trying to fix the wood around the window in a house we recently moved into but I am not sure the best way to remove the piece in the picture below. Hopefully you can see i was able to get rid of the first decorative piece and this is what remains. Can anyone give me some tips if possible or a good idea?
The poly and stain was coming off and flaking badly so was wanting to sand it down lightly and restain and poly. I was using a putty type knife to try and get under the wood with limited luck as it was pretty secure and he one piece i did it felt to me like I could easily break the window and I sure do not want to do that.
Thanks for the helps and tips
