wondering if it’s possible to convert this double door into a sliding door. Not sure why the house was built this way. There is already a single door that leads to the backyard and don’t really need or like these double doors.
anyone know of a way to hang some sort of temp door between bedrooms- but there is no "header wall" above the opening so to speak. So something like a hanging barn door i don't think will work. It would have to be fastened on the wall next to it with some type of track (but i am unable to find anything)
Any suggestions without framing a whole door in?
So I installed 2 Velux skylights that fit between my rafters (16” centres). Did not realize until cutting the holes in the ceiling that the ceiling joists were off centre from the rafters, thus making the joists on one side block the skylight opening... see photo. What is my best option for a fix? To me, running a 2nd ceiling joist seems to be the only option but I really want to avoid structural work since I plan on getting a beam installed into my house soon and that will need an inspection. Any suggestions?
