Hello,
I'm a new home owner and looking to replace the spacer towards the inside of the storm door.
I'm just so dumb that I'm not able to find what it's called to look it online for purchase.
Here is the picture and marked with red lines-18mm thick.
Thanks you!
The brickmold that matches the prehung jambs is sitting to the left of the left arrow. The storm door mounts on top of the brickmold and covers all but 1/4" of it. They have removed the brickmold, added an extension jamb between the jamb and the brickmold... (Cut on a table saw from some primed wood) then the put the brickmold on top of that.
I think that was added because the jamb was not deep enough for the closer or the door knob or it could be the brickmold that was left primed & unpainted.
They add that extension to make the door jamb wudth equal to the total wall thickness. I have no idea why the op would want to replace it. Dont think he realizes that everything would have to be torn apart in order to replace it... It all just needs to be painted the same color to match.
One thing though, is the triangle shaped closer bracket should be moved so that it is mounted on the white 18mm board. The edge of it is supposed to be 1/4" from the storm door frame. The farther away it gets, it makes the storm door harder to open.
My vinyl windows are more than twenty years old. They have functioned flawlessly.
A balance spring broke. While removing the balance spring, I ripped the window
screen. There is no screen frame latch, so how can I remove the frame from the
track?
Screen Frame Latch:

The screen frame track is uniform. There are no notches or cutouts. If there
were, I could align the frame with the notch and remove the frame from the track.
It's hard to believe, but it looks like these frames can never be removed. If that's
true, then the ripped screen can never be replaced!
I have a sliding screen on my patio door. The bottom rail is broken and is made of plastic/vinyl. Finding a replacement seems to be very difficult.
I am wondering if I can use a U channel instead of the bottom rail. With the current setup, the wheels roll on a rail, but with channel, there will be no rail. Would the sliding screen still work with a channel?
