Fibrex vs vinyl windows

I had renewal by Anderson come to my house and gave me a spiel about why fibrex is better than vinyl windows. I am not a window expert.

1. Is fibrex worth it?
2. Is Vinyl as bad as they claim to be?

Thank you

That is kind of like saying all vinyl siding is crap. There is cheap and there is good!

I purchased a spec home 13 years ago, it had vinyl windows which I was not thrilled about but with time have learned to like them.

I do not miss painting and staining the wood windows, they are tight, energy efficient, easy to clean.

I do see a bit of fading on the South side but nothing you would notice unless you look for it. I've had a few IGU's fail but with vinyl windows they are an easy fix.

Would I get them again, I would never do wood again, too much maintenance, so yea probably, a good brand!

It's comparing apples to oranges. They are different products. Is fibrex a higher quality product? Probably. But a different material just has different properties. Vinyl frames will usually be thicker and chambered. Fibrex can be thinner. Biggest thing with Andersen is its name brand and a stable company. Vinyl companies change like the wind, so getting service years from now could be a problem.
