Smile Hoping for help with an Unruly Sliding Screen Door!

Hello,
I have a sliding screen door that I recently purchased that is giving me problems... It is an adjustable door with screws at each corner that help you adjust the height. Well, when adjusted to the highest position which is what I need, after a few openings and closings one side keeps falling back down.

I have tried new screws, switching the upper and lower parts, putting shims in to make it taller, but none of my efforts have worked. So now, I am looking to jerry rig the door to be tall enough for my opening.

It doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to stay in the frame... if anyone has any suggestions for how to either make the screws stay put or use other parts to jerry rig it I am all ears and would be eternally grateful.

Thank you!
Erin

Aftermarket doors are not one size fits all, so its quite possible that the door simply will not work. You might possibly be able to obtain one from the original mfg, or have a door custom made by a screen shop.

It would help if you can post some detailed photos of your screen door and the adjustment area you mention.

Xsleeper is correct. In most cases sliding screen doors are specific to brand and model.
However, even with OEM's it takes time and experimentation to get that happy medium for the door to glide just right. Then if it gets hit or knocked off the rails you have to start all over again. And if the rails get slightly bent it's almost impossible to get smooth glide ever again.

If you can get to fit, you can use lock washers under the head of the screws or drill holes and use machine screws with a nut and lock washer.
