Felt like material in rollup screen tracks

We have these kind of weird rollup screens. The doors are vertical and the windows are horizontal. We inherited them from the previous owner. They come from Europe.

My question. They no longer retract properly mostly because of some black felt like material which has come apart over the years and kind of 'balls up' when I try to open the screen. I suppose I could try to scrape away the felt material (one side has adessive). But that will let in bugs. But I don't even know what to call the stuff to search for it on say Amazon.

Any help appreciated.

It's more like a fine brush material, you see it in a lot of windows.

Wait for Norm to respond, he does a lot of window/screen repairs, he's the super sleuth!

Thanks - the width is something like 1/8" to 1/4" (of 'felt'). What do I shop for ?

It's called pile weatherstripping. There are many sizes and thicknesses so you will likely need to pull out a piece and use a digital caliper to figure out the size.

I'm picturing that the type you have slides down a t-slot. So you have both the height of the pile and the width of the t-slot fin to figure out.

We would need a cross section or some photos to know what you have with any certainty. I'm just guessing.
