selection of hinges to replace old ones on exterior door

I want to remove the current brass door hinges on my front door, and door going into the garage, and replace them with satin nickel hinges. The current/original hinges are 4 inch hinges with square corners and they have two tabs on the hinge leaf connected to the door. I've looked at some 4" hinges on websites of Lowe's and Home Depot but have not seen ones with tabs like the tabs on my current hinges (see photo). I'm not sure what the purpose of the tabs is; I'm guessing they may make the hinged side of the door a bit more secure. So, I'm wondering whether I should search for new hinges that have the feature.

Those tabs don't serve much of a purpose other than helping to align the depth of the hinge. I think they were probably useful for when doors were mortised by hand. Your mortise is already there.

If its an exterior door you want a security hinge like this. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt...4901/202818719

Higher quality hinges will have ball bearings.

Thanks for the explanation of the purpose of those tabs.

Yes, the door is an exterior door; it leads to outdoors. But, since it swings inward instead of outward, I do not need security hinges.
