Screen Door Glass Replacement Advice Needed

We have a screen door to the front of the house and the glass that was in it came out one day and we're not able to get it back in. The wife tried taping it back on (bad idea) but it always came off after a few days. This glass was on the inside of the screen door and the screen is on the outside. I have been racking my brain trying to come up with a solution (aside from buying a new screen door). If I can avoid buying a new screen door that would be great. What I need is some kind of glass that I can simply screw onto the screen door. If I have to, I am willing to put screws in that door. Anyways, please give me some advice/suggestions if you can. I would really appreciate it.

You can see it, we can't so its pretty hard to know what you're talking about without a photo. If you're talking about a storm door that has an aluminum frame, you probably need to just take it to a hardware store to get it fixed.

If its a wooden frame, it probably needs a wooden stop, or some turn buttons placed around the perimeter of the glass, which are held on with a single screw to pivot on. Something like this perhaps. They come in a variety of offsets, from flush up to about 3/8". You would need at least 8... 2 per side.

Yes. It has an aluminum frame. If I can I'll put up a picture tomorrow. At the moment I have plastic taped over the opening to keep the wind out. The glass is pretty much done. I say that because the catches on it are either broken, stuck, or glued (so they can't move now). Yes, she even tried to glue it in the door. Sigh.

Aluminum door sashes usually have a rubber glazing that pushes into a kerf around the perimeter of the glass... yours must be missing which is why taking the aluminum sash out and taking it to a store might be your best bet.
