Do I Need Weather Stripping or Threshold?
Hello,
I am trying to address this 1 1/4" gap that I have under both of my patio doors and figure out the best solution. I recently repainted the patio door and removed the door seal that I added many years ago and want to fix this properly.
If you look at my video, you can see that the threshold itself is approximately 6 1/4" wide and measures about 60" long - the gap from the bottom of the door to the wood threshold measures approximately 1 1/4":

If I recall, about 6 or 7 years ago (maybe even 10) there might have been a metal threshold that I removed at the time - I think since it looked old, I just removed it for some foolish reason and then installed this under door seal (https://www.amazon.com/M-D-BUILDING-...00P4QHJNG?th=1). It didn't look that great and didn't look 'finished'.
I want to best figure out how to fix this gap - is it by installing some type of weather stripping, or by installing some kind of threshold which will also give the door more support in the middle of the door?
Thanks in advance!

You have no threshold, that is what is needed, Take a look at this, some measurements, swing, heights will be needed to get the right one.
An adjustable height threshold would be good. You will also need to have sweeps on the bottom of the doors.

Thanks so much for this.... since the complete door opening is 60" long, it looks like I would need to purchase the 72" x 6" Outswing threshold and then cut to 60" long:

Looks like per the specs that it is only 5 3/4" wide, but should work for my 6 1/4" wide existing wood threshold that is in the video?

You might want to put a piece of aluminum trim on the outside edge before you install the threshold. Be sure to treat the wood you have now with a sealer to prevent rot. Have the trim hang down lower than the patio blocks and caulk the gap between the trim and blocks.

@badeyeben - thanks for this.... This area where the doors are outside, but never exposed to any weather. In fact, if you look at the video on the wooden threshold that is currently there, you can see that it has been exposed for around 10 years and there is no water exposure. However, I'm guessing the aluminum trim would give it a more finished look at the minimum.
