Kitchen Slider Door Issue

We have a slider that goes from the kitchen to the patio. The blinds are internally mounted and are controlled by two magnetic levers (see photos). The top one controls opening and closing the blinds and the bottom one lowers and raises the blinds. The problem is that when I try to raise the blinds (by lowering the lever) past a certain point, the lever "slips off" from the internal magnet.

The mechanism takes more force to operate than it used to so it seems like the internal parts need to be cleaned oiled. But I have no idea how to go about or if that is even possible. Any suggestions?

If you want to rule out the external parts, get a can of silicone spray and lube up the moving parts that you can slide up and down. If that does not help, the problem is internal. And that's a problem.

You are really at the mercy of your door / window manufacturer's warranty with something like that, so your best bet is to contact them directly. There are no "fixes" for those type of between the glass blinds, as the only fix is getting a new IGU (insulating glass unit) with new blinds and new control. It is all sealed as a unit so there is no "working on it". But the IGU can be removed and replaced.

If you are unsure of the mfg, you can look for a gold NFRC sticker on the top jamb of the door and include a photo of it and we might be able to help you identify it.

That's a Jeldwen door.

I'd suggest you contact Jeldwen service dept. They may direct you to your local Lowes or Home Depot.
