How to fix door scratches

Hi, my door was scratched up. Can you recommend the best way to improve it? Should I sand it down slightly, fill in the gaps with some sort of putty and then paint it black? Thank you

There really is no fix/improve, as you described, sand out the scratches, probably do not need any filler, and repaint.

I'd probably smear some wood putty paste on it, sand it down, check to see if it s smooth enough or if it needs another coat of filler... then repaint that entire side of the door.

It doesn't appear any filler will stick to it. Not deep enough. Just sand it out and repaint.

I like to apply filler at the gouge and then sand it all off when dry. What little remains will be just in the scratch, then sand and paint.
