Pocket Door broken handle/lock

HI,
I have this hollow pocket door in a bathroom. The handle has broken loose from the door. The hardware si fine, I could have fixed right back to the door but there is nothing to hold into to (see pics) any ideas for a quick DIY fix? without removing or replacing the door? Thanks.

You just need to glue a piece of solid wood between the door skins... clamp it a couple hours until it's dry. Then screw it back on.

Clean off anything that's sticking out first so that you have a flat surface to glue to. Use plain yellow wood glue.

good idea, thanks. I don't have a clamp, I'll try to squeeze a piece wide enough.
What is "plain yellow wood glue"?

Google "wood glue". Titebond I for example. In lieu of a clamp use some masking tape... from one side of the door to the other, squeezing it together with your hand as you apply the tape.

Done, works like a charm, sturdier than before. I didn't need to use any glue. Just snug a piece of wood, drill 2 pilot holes and voila. thanks
