Trying to replace a window

Hi,

I am a newb at replacing windows. I did replace my kitchen window a two years ago, but that replacement was also a resizing, so I was much more flexible with picking a size for the window and I reframed it on the outside and inside.

This time, I am looking to remove an existing repcacement window:

So I measured that the width of the new one needs to be between 29'' and 30'' and height 36''-37''. I would not fit if more in any direction and it would create gap with outer frame if less.

So those are my margins. But my problem is that I cannot find a replacement window with that size! I have tried Home Depot and Lowe's. Do you have any other suggestions??? Online searches yield no good results so far.

Thankful for any advice!

You can order new construction (with nailing flange) or replacement (no nailing flange) windows in any size you want. If you have Menards nearby you can order online. I imagine you can do it at HD or Lowes as well if you talk to the window folks, but I haven't done that. Otherwise, check with local lumber yards.

But be aware that lead times have been unpredictable and can be quite long. And the cost will be higher than a "stock" window. You just need to decide if the added time and cost is worth it for you to avoid having to resize the opening, deal with the siding and trim, etc.

Thanks!

That is just the thing. We are getting ready for a house sale, so I don't think I can wait for made-to-measure.

But I will check the box stores in person (not just online)

No Menard's in this part of the country unfortunately. I am in Massachusetts.

I'll have to do resizing if there is no other option...

Just to follow up: Ended up downsizing by 2 inches width, keeping the same height, so it wasn't too bad. Found some Pella's at Lowe's for $228 each.
