Old VELUX skylight closes part way through opening

Moderators note: separated from: Velux Powered Windows

Hoping some of the expertise in this forum can help me with an issue I'm having with my old VELUX skylight that came with the house. It is a KES 310 System that has a control pad and two boxes.

When trying to open, it might make it halfway and then it closes automatically. I was hoping it was the two boxes, and one maybe had an issue, so I've been on the lookout for a replacement which I recently came across on eBay. I swapped the boxes, and I'm still having the issue so not the boxes but happy to have backups now if I can solve this otherwise. I don't think it's the rain sensor as I removed that connection from one of the boxes and the issue still occurs.

Now wondering if it might be the control pad mounted on the wall and perhaps the electronics got borked somehow, from a power surge maybe.

So if it could be the control pad, are there any recommendations for a new pad that I can pick up, even something I could control wirelessly, as finding one that looks like this old guy doesn't look easy after some brief searching.

Any help is appreciated.

A follow-up question, I'm not great with electric, but with the age of this thing is there a way to hook up a simple switch for open/close/stop as finding a replacement keypad seems pretty difficult.

There is little to no support from Velux on these systems. Been that way for years.

First thing you need to to do is to verify the power supply is working and remains working while the window closes. It should be 24vdc.
