Sliding closet doors

I have a 67 1/2 W x 82 1/2 H door opening with 3/4 inch trim still on. Do I need 60x80 doors? I know I will have to extend the frame on the side to accommodate. Will I have to do it to the top also? It will be going to wood and not carpet. Thank you

If you want to install that size door you will have to do build out the rough opening to within about 1/2" the finished door size so you can use shims and attach the new door assembly.

If you are going to jamb and trim the opening, and you are using bypass doors, you would probably want to use two 32x80 doors, they will overlap 1" in the middle, so your finish jamb opening would need to be about 62 1/2x81 3/4. This assumes you are using a head track like the Johnson 111SD.

The rough opening for those jambs would need to be about 65x82. And you'd account for any added height the flooring would add when you plan your rough opening and finish opening heights.
