I am replacing four interior doors - three of the door frames measure 30" x 80" {inside measurments} and the linen closet is 22 1/2" x 80"

Home Depot carries 30", 28" and 24" doors:

1. How much clearance is needed on the left and right sides of the doors?

2. I curently have Terazzo floors but will be installing either pergo or tile in the future. How thick are these flooring types and how much clearance should there be between the bottom of the door and the floor {pergo or tile}
Should the linen closet have a larger gap?

Also, how much can be trimmed off of these doors? The closet need an inch and a half off to fit a 24 inch door.

From what I have seen, Home depot sells full size slabs which means a 30 is a 30 and so on. If your openings are exactly to the full size then the door is probably part of a prehung unit with th door manufactured slightly under. It would probaly be easier for you to either purchase a prehung unit at HD, check whether HD can get prehung slabs or goto an independant lumber yard and order prehung slabs which will be 3/16" of an inch less than a full size. The prehung slab may have beveled sides that need to be installed in the proper direction or the door will not shut properly. Some of HD doors also allow for little room for cutting on the bottom and sides. Be sure to read the flyers next to each type of door for more information. Any chance of resizing the framing for a 24" prehung in the linen closet???

The three 30" doors are a breeze. The door slabs are 29-3/4" which leaves 1/8" gap for both sides.

The closet door is another story. It looks like the closet door was already widened from 20" to its current width of 22-1/2"
The interior of the closet is 22-1/2" wide which leaves no room for expansion. I might go with a solid core door or a louvered door for the linen closet

I curently have Terazzo floors but will be installing either pergo or tile in the future. How thick are these flooring types and how much clearance should there be between the bottom of the door and the floor {pergo or tile}
Should the linen closet have a larger gap?
