Cool

We just moved into a new home and we want to add a couple of windows. The new house has steel siding.

My question is, whether it is steel or vinly siding, what is the best approach to removing the siding to frame for a new window? I understand there is a simple tool to remove the siding, is this true?

Thanks,

Need your advise

I assume that your siding is lapped horizontally. You can get a zipper tool which will allow you to unhook one of the siding laps so you can remove the siding from that point down. Or, you may be able to remove the siding by starting at the top, under an eave, and work the top course out of the trim it is captured in. Either way, from there, it is simply a matter of removing the nails that hold each course in place, then removing that course.
