After having the panes replaced in our sliding glass door,
it now is more difficult to slide and sounds as if it needs
lubricating. Is lubrication the answer? And, if so, is there
something special to use or will any light layer of grease
work?
Please respond to this site or email me at redtoadjim@netscape.net. Thank You, RTJ

Lubrication is NOT the answer. That will act like a magnet for dust and dirt and make the situation even worse. Replace the rollers. Take one out and use it to get an exact replacement. Also, look at the guide that the rollers ride on (in the slider frame). If that is worn, simply put a stainless steel "snap cap" on it. You will find that at any glass shop.

Hello, Did the door make the same noise before you had the pane replaced? If not make sure the door wheels are on the track, and the door is adjusted so the bottom doesn't slide across the threshold. Might be the repair persons cell phone rang and they sent him to another job so he didn't give you 100% Good Luck Woodbutcher
