PLEASE Help Installing new Stanley back door

In process of installing of a new Stanley back door. Have installed doors before. This one is really sticking at the bottom of the door as you go to close it. Have adjusted sill to lowest point and still sticks. Door has been nailed in and appears to be level when checking with a long level. Clearance on top of door is fine. Any suggestions on how to improve the clearance on the bottom of the door?
Door also does not appear to be completely flush at bottom when closed. Please HELP!!!!

I have seen this alot

I have seen this a lot on newer doors, especially on double/french doors (most of them were installed by professionals). Is this intentional to get a tighter seal on the bottom? Or a result of poor installation? Or a manufacturing defects?

How do you solve this problem? If the door is square and evenly gaped, is there a way to move the door up or the sill down?

Fixed

Here is how I fixed the problem with my Stanley door. I carefully removed the trim on the threshold and sunk some screws into the floor. This pulled the threshold down and increased the clearance on the bottom of the doors.

Adjusting Storm Doors!!

I think I hate storm doors! I have 3 Larson's (full views and a utility crossbuck design)that give me problems installing and later occcasional adjusting. Realize this will be hard to explain w/o seeing it. Last night, I nearly tore one off. I merely installed the storm glass for winter, then was moving the retracting side arm from summer to winter position, but saw that it was already in the winter position so put it right back where it was. Well, guess what? The door would not close all the way-I swear that is all I did to it. The side "Z" piece, vertical,on the latch side was distorted, like it had been stressed open and so I gently tried to persuade it in place w/ a scrap of 2x4 and a hammer. Well, now it is worse. I walked thru it (test) to the other side and it acted locked after I pushed it closed-damn door. Of course I had to go get keys and walk around to another door to get in. The latch had hung up on the back side "Z" thing because door was pushed in beyond it By looking at it/operating it, I can't tell what it wants. The hinge side 1x4 moves when I try to pull door close all the way. Right now it just wants to close short of an inch. On another door, full-view, I have never been able to get the lock, latch and strike plate lined up well. And what is up w/ the changing tension to close the door from one day to the next? This is in a rental so I am guessing tenants had troublew/ it and stressed it at different times. Anyone got any ideas on this? Suggestions on general adjustment/alignment ofstorm doors? How about a brand that may be easier to install and maintain? I recently saw the same full-view door at someone's house w/ the same trouble. my bedroom is right off of the family room which has a 22 foot cieling, causing sound to magnify and can be heard easily in the bedroom. wife works icu 3 nights a week, so sleeping during the day is hard with 4 kids pounding up and down the steps, turning on tv, etc. bedroom door is 6 panel hollow core. can i drill holes and spray foam into it to reduce noise? got some weatherstripping for it as well. i do not mind changing the door, if i do, what type should i get?Read More
