searching for that perfect window
We are finally changing out our 30+ year old windows in our living room and have been bombarded by advertisements from the big three, ie. Andersen, Pella, and Marvin. We are looking to replace three very large windows and a sliding patio door with clad wood. The situation is we will also be adding an addition in the next couple of years and will want to have the same type of windows installed at that time. With the big three, price is a serious concern. I have been hearing some about "Norco" windows and doors as being a reasonable alternative. If anyone has any info or experience with Norco or WeatherShield, please pass it along.
Thanks in advance.

I am an architect with 30+ years experience. In my opinion, you get what you pay for, especially windows. I am going to replace windows in my own home in a couple years and I will only consider the "Big 3".

I used to sell Norco windows and there is nothing wrong with them. They are certainly not as well known as the other brands you mention but Norco is a very good product and in my opinion a value for the money. As you may have noticed, they certainly don't spend much money advertising; much to the chagrin of some of their dealers I might add. I have been selling aluminum, wood, and vinyl windows for 25+ years and I would have no qualms about having Norco windows in my own home. Good luck.
