Question Need doors for short rough openings

Finishing the cellar and because of low main beam I have two openings needing doors with rough opening dimensions of 2'8" wide by 5'8" high. I thought to take 4 panel pine colonial slabs and shorten the top and bottom but am worried that I'll weaken it or make it look silly.

Is it possible to slice through the middle of the panel section and rejoin it using biskits? Thanks.

I would not recommend you cut the door in half and use biscuits.
I have added short sections to the top and bottom of doors using biscuits with good success. I would purchase a 6 panel solid door and cut the top "short" panel off and add a short section to bring to final size. Sand prime and paint to finish. Hope this helps.
