door to window
Good morning, I am renovating a house that I just bought and want to convert a storage area to a utility room. Plumbing issues aside, I want to make an exterior doorway a full length window. I was going to put in the typical 36" window but realized that I do not have brick to fill in the bottom. The house is approx 20 yrs old. Any tips as to or warnings before I proceed? Thanks.

By "full length" window, do you mean the entire space the door is now taking ?.......Two things come to mind if that is the case.....first, that will look sorta odd to have that tall a window, and second, make sure the bottom sash has tempered glass being that close to the floor if you do it.
An alternative to not having brick for unneath a less tall window would be to make up a decorative panel under the window outside, use exterior plywood and get a small moulding to mount on the surface for decoration. This is often done on brick houses around here under the front windows just for decoration.
