Question Need help! Sliding glass door to retrofit french doors.

I'm looking for expert advice as to how to remove an existing sliding glass door, and replace it with a retrofit french door set. The french door set will have one "phantom" retractable screen on one side. Any experts out there?

Cool

I'm no expert, but when I replaced both of my slider sets with French door sets, we lifted the sliding doors out, removed the trim inside and out, unscrewed the frames of the slider sets and removed them, and installed the pre-hung French door sets from the outside.
Use overlapping beveled shims from inside and outside to level and square the French door frame and caulk under the French door frame and around the outside flanges before nailing or screwing the door set in place.
Strips of beveled cedar shingles work well for shims.
Good luck!
Mike
