Exclamation Metal drapery hangers with double draws (traverse rod)

I have a heavy duty metal drapery hanger which pulls the draperies by means of a cord at one end. It parts the drapery in the middle and pulls it to both sides with hard plastic runners. However the main center runner which controls the cord is broken. I cant find anywhere that sells them so I could repair it.

The drapery hanger is very sturdy and useful. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement or something to repaice the one I have?

Might you be talking about a traverse rod? I've never heard it called a drapery hanger, LOL
If so, and it's still under warranty, call the place where you bought it. If it's not, there's no store where you can buy parts, but you can get parts on Ebay. Just type in "traverse rod parts".

Adding, if it was pricey, you might be able to contact the manufacturer directly. I've done that with things like faucets, so maybe they do it too.

If I understand you right your "master carrier" is busted..

You have 2 options..

most likely you have a kirsch rod, double check that and find a dealer online that can get you a new master.. then take down the drape, detach your rod from its center brackets and then lift or pull your rod from the end brackets and bring it to the floor.. remove the end of the rod and pull out all the plastic carriers and then your master.. restring the new master and slide it in place and then put back the plastic carriers and pop on the end..

or

detach the rod from its center brackets and then remove it from its end brackets.. then drop in a new rod you got from the hardware for 20 bucks and then rehang the drape..

Its critical you buy the same brand rod as your old one to match the brackets..

If you post a pic i can help you do that if you See no clear markings..

Metal drapery carrier

Thanks BLD,
You guessed exactly what I needed. There is no manufacturer listed. It is very old but very stong and very good except for that recent defect. I think I will have to buy a new one.
