uninstalling and installing new drapes with rings on traverse rod
The new drapes do not have the rings installed; I have to take down the old drapes and change over the rings before I can put up the new drapes. Not sure how to do this since it involves the traverse rod/lines that are hooked to the old drapes?
(I hope I'm making this harder than it is?)

Hi medsec and welcome to the forum!
Are you talking about a decorative traverse rod?
You should not have to take down the rings. There should be some drapery pins, pinned in the back of the pleats, that slip into the little eye below the ring.
this is from BedBathandBeyond or you should be able to get them from any store that sells drapery rods and hardware.
If the ones you have now are sewed on, then I would just clip the threads and use the pins instead, or they'd have to be re-sewn again.
If this doesn't answer your question, let me know.
