Window Scarves - what length?
I live in an apt and so I have blinds, but I hate people being nosy around here so I bought a spring rod that sticks out and I put a big beige curtain panel and just covered the whole thing. I can slide it back one way to let light in during the day.
Anyway the curtain panel is about 1 and 1/4 feet off the ground. I want to get some window scarves (chocolate brown) to make it no so boring and plain looking. I have not seen any pictures with scarves that the panel didnt touch the floor, so I'm not sure if its ok for the scarves to be longer than the curtain or if they must be up higher. the 216" length I see, would definately hit the ground, and the 144" length scarves would end up around half way up.
I'm not sure what would look best.

No, you don't want it to be longer and it shouldn't touch the ground, even if the panel were longer, so I'd go with the shorter one definitely. To add a little interest, you could hang it asymmetrically so that one end stops at the bottom of the panel and the other side shorter.

I tried to get an idea what it would look like with curtain scarves and used a few of my bed sheets to test it out. It ended up looking to country or feminine for me. I'm going to end up buying new curtains that reach the ground and are better material. I think I read scarves should really go with thin sheer curtains anyway. I'll just give this to a relative, it was only $10 anyway

They don't necessarily go with only sheers, but they are a bit dated right now, so good choice with the longer panels.
