: I've heard of metal ducts and flexible ducts. What are the pros/cons? ALSO for air exchage only between 2 floors (separate from heat/ac), what about pvc plastic pipe for a duct????

Wink

You dont say where the pipe and duct will be????? Attic or basement Metal is the best it smooth in side. PVC cost to high and the 90o L to sharp.

The ducts would run up about 20' from the basement, then across about 20' betwen the 2nd floor ceiling/3rd floor floor, then up another 10' to the top of the 3rd floor wall and vent to 3rd floor room. (One route for air up another route for air down, just to exchange air between basement and 3rd floor room). The 20' foot horz runs would be very difficult to access.

Thumbs down

Id look at it as a 50 ft run of pipe and with 4 L90o that would put me at 70 ft of pipe drag No way would I even start to try and move the air that way.
