Duct noises coming from basement when walking in kitchen

Our house is 2.5 years old. The heating/air conditioning ducts run under our kitchen and family room. When you walk in the kitchen and family room above the ducts you can hear the duct popping. Its like your hitting hot spots (meaning it happens often if you walk over the same area). It happens frequently and over the past 2.5 years the "hot spots" have moved around. Is this just because its a new house? What can we do to make the noises stop? We have gas heat.

Lots of Ifs here that can do it. Is the duct tight to the joist? Can drop it down a bit. With some one upstairs find the joist that will make the noise when they are on it. Cut blocks to fit tight in between them same as the joist 2X8 2x10 2X12 and nail them up there in line like for a bridging. This can help take the so called spring out of the floor.
