Question Return Air Question

I am in the process of closing in my formal dining room in order to make it an office. I'm concerned about the heat. This particular room faces East, so, it only gets the morning sun, however, I do live in Texas and it does get hot here in the summers.

The current return air size is 16 x 20 and it's located about 10 feet or so from the room that I would like to run the return to. Can I simply tap off of the existing return, run the duct work and the vent into the new room, or is there something else that I should do?

You could tap into that "box" up in the attic, and put a return in the "office" .

Does the main return have a filter grill? If so, make sure you have one for the office as well.
