Flexiduct to Rectangular Duct and Back

We are remodeling our kitchen and want to reclaim some floor space that is now being used by a small wall unit/cabinet. When we opened up the wall unit we were surprised to find a run of 7" flexiduct which comes up from our basement crawlspace through the wall unit up through the ceiling joists to our second floor bathroom.

Since we would like to eliminate the wall unit, could we create a wall stack or riser of say 3 1/4 by 12" (or 14") rectangular duct to run between the basement flexiduct, through the kitchen wall and attach back to the 7" flexiduct which is running through the ceiling joists to the upstairs bathroom? Do we have to surround the riser with insulation on all sides? Is there enough space for the duct plus insulation in the wall? The wall is an outside wall with drywall on the kitchen side and stucco on the outside.

I should also say our system is A/C and heat.

Thanks for your help!

You for sure dont want to run that duct up an outside wall. For one thing you cant cut the top or the bottom plate there in the wall. The inside of the wall is 3 1/2" so how can you get a 3 1/4" wall stack in the wall and some insulation also. A 3 1/4"X14" there on the face of the wall and box around it. Tie that 7" in the crawl space to it and up on top that other 7" pipe.
