moving ducts??

I am finishing my basement and the ducts are a little lower in some spots than I think they should be. So I wanted to move them is there also a way to make them flatter to the ceiling as in wider but with the same volume? will this hurt anything? And lastly how do you do it? I have a digital cam so can take tons of pics if someone is willing to help me out then email me direct at hocbry30@email.pct.edu

Thanks alot

Thumbs up

You certainly can "blow-out" your ducts downstairs to make for more headroom.

All you need to do is maintain your sq.in. of total area or even go up a bit.

For instance:
If you have a duct thats 14" wide and 12" deep, you can easily blow it out to 20" wide and 8.5" deep.

How you do it is another story. You need to know how to make a transision from 14x12 to 20x8.5 I suppose you could do a google search and get a pretty good idea how to make one from sheetmetal.

I wouldn't mind telling you how, I'll share my knowledge with anyone in need; but it's much too complicated to try and explain with a keyboard. Sorry.
