Question should I have flex ducts replaced with rigid ducts? Cost?

We have discovered mold in our ducts and air vents. 2 of the vents are covered in it, the others have just a small amount. We don't know what is causing the problem. We were planning on having the ducts cleaned and then figure out what is causing the condensation in the first place. It seems that I have read that flex ducts with mold should be replaced rather than cleaned b/c they don't clean well. Of course, all of the cleaning companies say that they CAN adequately clean flex duct. I also read on the EAP website that flex duct can be cleaned with soft brushes but it may be more cost efficient to replace them. Our estimates for cleaning range from about $300 to $1100. The one I was considering quoted $500 to clean with brushes, would clean the air handler and spray some sort of disinfectant. I was wondering if we should perhaps replace the duct work instead of cleaning it and if so, should we replace it with rigid ducts? Is rigid better? Is there a huge difference in cost b/w flex and rigid? Our house is 2800 sq ft and has 16 vents. Anyone have a ballpark estimate for what this will cost in SC.
